Hostgator Review

hostgator

There is no doubt that Hostgator is one of the most well known hosting providers around the net. Though they are not the oldest webhosting company, they have been on web hosting company for many years. With thousands of customers using their service, it is clear that they are trusted by so many people. A lot of customers also means decent experiences on this field.

To be really honest, when I visit their website, I can not really find anything spectacular about them. Hostgator offers decent hosting plans at affordable prices, however there are many webhosting companies put there that also offer similar plans and prices. Their web host packages are quite standard too, Cpanel hosting with various features that you can find on other providers. Nothing spectacular, really. I must say that the website design is not that impressive either.

However, after doing some researches and trying to contact them I know the real power behind their success. They offer superb customer support to all of their customers. You can contact them trough email, online chat, and also phone line support.

Try to contact their support, ask some questions, technical questions if you are experienced on hosting things, and you will find their customer supports are responsive and really helpful. As I said on this How to find the right web hosting provider article, a decent customer support is one of the most important factor when choosing a web hosting company.

If you want to get the best hosting deal, then make sure you buy from a hosting company that provide good and responsive customer supports. This is very important since they will be your life saver when anything goes wrong with your hosting account. You have to make sure that you will get a help fast anytime you face any problems. And you can find it on hostgator.

Another great thing about them is, their hosting uptime rates. Hostgator web hosting are very reliable with a very little down time. Something that is very crucial since we want our website can be accessed any time. You don’t want to see your website offline every few days, right? HostGator provides 99.9% uptime guarantee on all of their hosting packages.

Hostgator offers several hosting plans, 3 shared hosting plans, 4 reseller hosting packages, and 4 dedicated hosting offers.

The only problem I find, if you can call it a problem, is they haven’t provide Windows hosting account. However, at the time I write this article, they are planning to open Windows web hosting plan and will be available in the near future.

As a conclusion, I must say that Hostgator is a real deal when it comes to web hosting. They offer decent hosting plans at competitive prices with excellent customer supports. They also provide solid guarantees to all of their customers.

I am with hostgator for more then 2 years with almost no problems at all. Contacted their support several times and I must agree with you that their customer support is excellent, fast on responding my questions, and more importantly handle all problems really fast. I haven’t tried their phone line support since I live outside the US, too expensive to call them :)

Their price, though it’s cheap enough is quite common in my book since, as you said, we can get similar prices from other providers. I rated 4 for the prices while for other categories I rate them at 5.

If you need a real deal and top notch web hosting service, then you can’t go wrong with hostgator.

PS: I should add that I use their shared hosting plan.

i tried subscribing to hostgator last oct. 5. they told me that they had refunded my payment pending verification of account (which i did within 2 hours from receipt of their email) and had asked me to pay again. as of today (oct. 20) my bank still hadn’t received the refund of USD 95.52 (1 year subscription) from hostgator yet. 1 week ago, i had decided to forego hostgator and tried out bluehost. they are cheaper on a feature to feature basis (bluehost – USD 3.95 vs hostgator – 7.95 on a 1 year basis for the unlimited domain package. so for my 2 cents worth, i’d go for bluehost anytime, anyday.
